About the Firm

The Law Offices of Ira M. Friedman was founded in 1975. Abby B. Friedman later joined Ira M. Friedman to form the present law firm of Friedman & Friedman. The firm handles all phases of family law, including appeals, and also handles civil litigation at the trial and appellate level in State and Federal courts.

Friedman & Friedman has been the prevailing party in three published family law cases. The Marriage of Gavron and The Marriage of Keech have become hallmark cases in the areas of spousal support and attorney's fees respectively.

Friedman & Friedman handles matters involving the dissolution of domestic partnerships, and other matters which may arise in same sex relationships.

The firm also has a special emphasis on enforcing child and spousal support orders and judgments in California, regardless of whether the original order or judgment was from California. The firm likewise enforces civil judgments where the debtor or any income or assets of the debtor are in California.
